Well finally some stitching! I signed up for last weekends International Hermit & Stitching Weekend, and it worked.
LHN Ornaments 2011 Series Cardinal Winter, previously the only stitching on this piece was the heart at the top and a little bit of stitching on either side, so great progress. Obviously didn't do much else for the weekend, I was a real hermit, watched DVD's and stitched. Although I did mow the front lawn for what is hopefully the last big mow with winter coming on fast.
LHN Ornament 2011 Series Silent Night, this was completed back in March, I had hoped to have another two or three finished in March, but life went to hell in a hand basket.
First my old man, Chobe, went to dog heaven just before Easter, nearly 14. I probably hung on a month longer than I should have, I woke up one morning with the day off work, and said right today has to be it. Cried and cried.
Then last week it was Levi, my five year old Devon Rex, with a blockage, and crystal build up, seriously he is only five. The vet talked about surgery, with no guarantees, special diets and medications, again with no guarantee that the problem would not recur, and big money involved, and I was like really, seriously. I looked into those beautiful eyes, and said no. Very hard and I felt like I had let him down, but I could not see quality of life, and forever living on a knifes edge that it wasn't going to happen again. His brother was only three and a half when it hit him, and my sister tried everything the vets suggested, he lasted six months before he had a recurrence.
So talk soon... LiBBiE in Oz (who is feeling cold and heartless)
Oh honey...your poor thing. I am so, so sorry. These are the hardest things to decide, hands down. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteoh Libbie, I am so sorry that you lost Chobie and Levi. My heart is heavy for you. Our animal friends are such a gift and give us so much.
ReplyDeleteOn the stitching front, Yahoo! I am loving your ornaments.
Oh, I am so so sorry you lost both Chobe and and Levi. My heart is breaking for you. I love your ornie finish and your ornie WIP too.
ReplyDeleteI am ever so sorry. They are Over Rainbow Bridge and will be happy. As for you, you are not cold and heartless. It takes courage to do what is good for them...not what we selfishly want for ourselves. They need someone to care enough. You are in my thoughts...
ReplyDeleteLibby, I am so sorry about Chobe and Levi. What you did for your babies was the right thing and it took love and courage. I will be keeping you in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteHi Libby,Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your 2 pets.We had to have our Jake put to sleep earlier this month so know how you are feeling.
Oh Libbie, I'm sending virtual *Hugs*. I'm so sorry to hear about your furry friends. You are far from cold and heartless, and though it was hard, what you did was done in love and in their best interest. I'll be praying for you. Love your stitching!! *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your loss, but don't think you're cold hearted, Levi is in a better place right now, pain free. You're not the only person that hasn't been blogging or even reading blogs. Loved the pictures of Jersey Boy in your last post.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing cold or heartless about your decisions. You did what was best for them, but I know it's still a heart wrenching decision. And to have to do it twice in such a short time! Lots of cyber hugs.
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter note, your stitching is great.
It's a terribly difficult decision but the right one. I'm sorry for your loss -- 2 so close together makes it worse. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeletegorgeous stitching :D but that is so sad!
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear about your pets!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on Cardinal Winter and congrats on the finish :)
The ornaments look great, I think I have the "tweet" one myself to do someday. It really takes someone with a big heart to do what you had to for both your pets. You made the right decision but sometimes it is so very hard!
ReplyDeleteI miss hearing from you...hope you are just busy!! Sending hugs your way!
